Attention neat and tidy dog owners, how do you clean dog hair from the floor and upholstery, sweeping dosent?

...work too well, and mooping seems to spread it. I found a hair in my food today. I just got this adult shepard and he sheds bad, and he does this thing...he. shakes, it sounds like a hellicopter when he does it...just like dogs do when they are all wet...and the hair hits the fan! It floats down onto everything. What can I do?
